Our love affair with palms began years ago as the founder of Forever Palms
planted his first palm seeds. The little seedlings grew and grew, day by day,
year by year, as they were tenderly nurtured and cared for. Today in the Florida
nurseries and tree farms of our sister company, Hardy Palm Trees there are over
250,000 live palm trees growing.
What is it that make palms so popular, all around the world? We call it the
“Tropical Paradise Effect”. With their stately elegance, and bold green look,
palms are the primary symbol of exotic tropical islands, beaches, and dream
vacations.
For years we have helped families and business landscape their own Tropical
Paradise.

Table Top and Miniature Forever Palms
Our beautiful table top palms start from 10" and go to 3 ft.
Fan palms 3-5 fronds and Phoenix palms 5-10 fronds. Usually around 1 lb.
in weight, between 1-3 ft approximately 3 -5 lbs.
Note: Preserved Palm Trees over 10 feet are not recommended for
areas exposed to high winds. Typical Commercial installations include interior
areas with high UV exposure, extremes in humidity and / or reduced maintenance
needs in commercial spaces. All Commercial Forever Palms are treated with a
permanent fire retardant chemical process.
Base Plates for Trunks 7 - 15 feet in height have 5 3/4" 0.0.
Sch. 10 Steel Receiver. Base Plates for Trunks 16 - 24 feet in height have 53/4"
0.0. Sch. 40 Steel Receiver
Trunks for extra tall, extreme curved and all outdoor
applications typically constructed using using 6" - 8" LD. Sch. 10 or 40 Steel
*AII weights approximate - our intention is to provide general weight estimates
for structural planning and shipping estimates

How do we do it?
The Making of a Forever Preserved Palm.
The long process begins with the selection of the finest fronds and bark from
the thousands of live trees at the tree farms of Hardy Palm Trees, our sister
company. This plant material is carefully harvested by hand in the early morning
hours to assure the best look of freshness. Once harvested, the plant material
immediately begins the preservation process.
Every natural leaf, every bit of bark, every palm frond is inspected, cleaned,
individually preserved using our patent pending, proprietary series of solutions
that both preserve and enhance color fastness. If the plant material is to be
used in our commercial line, it goes through a multi-step permanent fire
retardant process.
Preserved plant material is then assembled onto a trunk made of steel, foam and
structural plastic. The bark is banded to the trunk recreating the natural
growth patterns. Next the palm fronds are selected based of the size of the
desired tree and the configuration of the crown to the individual palm tree.
Every Forever Palm is unique, a natural creation, and a work of art.
Each tree is carefully individually packed for shipment. Upon arrival at it’s
installation location, the Forever Palm is “planted” (installed) following easy
to follow instructions.

How to Order the Perfect Palm
Start with the space you want to enhance. Imagine your own Tropical Resort, the
relaxed feel, the music, every intricate detail.
Now think about the options available for your palm tree's. How high should the
y be? Should they be individually “planted” or as a cluster? Should they
gracefully curve over a koi pond, or boldly frame the entry into the next room?
Just let us know your vision and we can build your perfect palm.
Our natural bark trunk interior preserved Phoenix and Washingtonia Palms are
among the most beautiful and highest quality construction available. Each trunk
is made to order and constructed with a structural pipe core in the trunk and
the frond head. Trunks are covered with natural bark, then banded for superb
styling and lasting beauty. Trunks and heads are guaranteed for 4 years. Each
comes with a steel base plate for support. This steel base plate has a receiver
pipe in which the trunk slips over. Base plates also have holes for anchoring
plate to cement pad either in a planter or directly into ground/floor.
Do I need fire retardant?
Fire Retardant is a requirement, by law, for most commercial spaces. Residential
customers are not required to have fire retardant artificial or preserved plants
and trees...but it is a comfort to know what you have in your home is safe so
fire retardant artificial plants are an available option. Of course the cost is
greater...but if safety is a high value for you and yours...the cost is low.
Forever Palms uses the best available fire retardant processes, like those used
for products like children's pajamas. Our fire retardant quality lasts the life
of the product because the fire retardant chemicals are impregnated internally
into the tissues of the plant material. With internally fire retarded products
the preservative and the fire retardant chemicals in the foliage will not wash
out, evaporate out or otherwise disappear.
An alternative to inherent or internal fire retarding, is a post production
topical application of fire retardant chemicals. This alternative is frequently
employed since the availability of inherently and internally fire retarded
products is limited in terms of variety and the initial cost is
higher...considerably. However, the long term costs are higher - much higher -
since the topical solution must be reapplied often, and the constant
reapplication accelerates the deterioration of the original plant material -
artificial or preserved. The cycle of deterioration goes something like this.
The chemical is applied to the materials either by spraying it on once arranged
or by dipping each plant prior to arranging (initial application only).
Regardless of method used to apply the chemical, some materials will absorb the
chemicals and others will not leaving a tacky film on the surface that collects
dust, dirt and other undesirable organisms to build up on the surface of the
once beautiful plant. Now the plants must be cleaned. Once cleaned, the chemical
must be reapplied in order to meet ordinances of the fire marshal. Hence the
cycle continues.
Some commercial establishments I am familiar with spend thousands each month for
the chemical alone (never mind the cost of the labor to re-apply the chemical).
It is a rather ridiculous and costly venture / cycle. At the risk of loosing my
non-bias position in this writing, in some cases we have solved the "topical
nightmare" by providing a permanent post production application. This however,
is not an easy problem to solve, and hence we are continuing our development of
this permanent application to include a greater variety of artificial and
preserved plant species. In the near future, look for our updates on available
post production, permanently fire retarded artificial plant materials.
